Most of us came from the agile world.
Most of us have agile values and principles on the back of our heads.
But there is one thing the agile manifesto doesn’t say.
Put data in front of our decision making. Why not:
Data driven decision over intuitive decision making
Data needs to be there. Data needs to be the driver for coaching and helping our teams.
Going beyond agile, we can find the answer in Lean.
It is our responsibility, as agents of change, to help measure our teams. Not just for bonuses or performance reviews, but to help them understand how things are. Cycle Times, Lead times and so on, exist to help us understand what is wrong and then to fix it. To inspect and adapt.
Without it, we are all driving blind. No GPS. No MAP. Lights out on a dark night.
Cheers,
